Jewel is a 10 year old girl with cerebral palsy who lives in Maui with her Mom, Dad and two older sisters. Cerebral palsy does not define her, but it is a big part of her life-our life too. This blog is to share how i (Ivana, her mom) see her growing up and keep her healthy as she is on no medication. She has physical, speech and ocupational therapy. It is also to provide support to other families of kids with Cerebral Palsy.

It has been a long day, and I will leave it at that.
This is the first time I'm logging in to your blog. How wonderful that you are writing to encourage others as well as to let others into your life and the lives of your family. This takes courage.
Thank you for being my friend and for always being there when I've gone through struggles. I love our get-togethers.
Jewel has come a long way and she is so blessed to have a loving family surrounding her. I've seen Makena and Raven grow and mature through helping Jeweliana. Many families struggle with teens who rebel or make poor choices. With your family, I see your teen daughters pulling together to help care for Jewel. When I find myself asking the big "why" question -- why does God allow such things as what Jeweliana deals with, I think that one good thing (I'm sure there are many good things) that comes from it is that Makena and Raven have a close relationship with you and with Jewel. They are normal teens yet there's a deep caring in them.
