Jewel is much more relaxed and has gotten much needed sleep and so have we.
Good sleep helps the body grow.

Got my taxes done and electronically filed, deep breath and feeling lighter.
Get together with good friend, Kathleen and John at pool side.
Planning to go to see Soul Surfer.
Nap - quiet time.

Nothing like the big screen and amplified music, with loads of sweet treats and pizza!
An amazing and inspiring movie of Bethany Hamilton, and I agree with the line in the movie that says that LOVE is the most important thing! Go Bethany!

ReplyDeletemy hula sister Robin shared your blog with me. as a fellow mom, but of an abled-bodied kid, i am humbled and inspired by your writing. our good friends have a son with cardiomyopathy - and watching them grow with him and with it, gives us insight into the strength required to do the million things that parents like me never have to think about. i am grateful of your sharing your stories because there is always an amazing worthy incredible child at the center of the story. one with an incredible light in their eyes, as is clearly the case with your Jewel. also grateful that you are expressing your strength when it fails, and your courage when it rises, and your familyʻs triumphs, big and small - it raises all of us parents up to a different level and i send you mahalo nui for that. x0 karen from sf

I acknowledge that we all need strength and each other to get through our day. When we fail with our children we collectively fail and when can make gains we all triumph.
